👋 Welcome, I’m Dorothy Bunce

Student Loan & Debt Relief Attorney in Las Vegas

Many people in Southern Nevada are overwhelmed by student loan debt. Maybe:

💸 Payments are too high.

📈 Balances grow instead of going down.

⚖️ Loan servicers threaten wage garnishment or asset seizure.

Any way you slice it, student loan problems can make life unbearable. That’s where I step in.

🌟 My Mission

I’m not here to sell “one-size-fits-all” solutions. I know they don’t exist. My goal is to save my clients more than $1 million in student loan debt this year — and I want you to be part of that success story.

01

The bigger your debt, the more opportunity I have to help you save.

02

You'll keep the savings, because I don't charge based on how much I reduce your debt (that would be illegal).

03

My focus is on affordable, lasting solutions that fit your life.

🧾 Your First Step: Gather Your Loan Data

Before we can explore repayment, forgiveness, or bankruptcy options, you’ll need your official federal student loan report.

🔑 What This Report Tells Me.

1. How many loans you have. and the account number for each loan.

2. Balance owed on each loan.

3. When you took out each loan.

4. Last payment amount and date.

5. Current status of the loan, such as active, in deferment, forbearance, or default.

6. Any past deferments, forbearances, or defaults — and when they ended.

💻 How to Download Your Loan Data.

  1. Visit studentaid.gov and log in with your FSA ID & password
  2. Select “View Details” on your Dashboard
  3. Go to the Aid Summary page
  4. Click “Download My Aid Data” (store this file securely, don’t re-save or edit it).
  5. ⚠️ Avoid public Wi-Fi or phones — this is sensitive financial info.

Once you’ve got this file, you’re ready for me (or another attorney) to analyze it using professional student loan software.

Here is a step by step guide how to download your Loan data

👩‍⚖️ Why Work With Me?

I’ve been practicing law since 1978 and founded A Fresh Start Law in 2000 to help Nevadans address challenging financial issues. Over the years, I’ve:

01

✅ Handled bankruptcy, student loans, and debt relief cases for decades.

02

✅ Negotiated directly with loan companies and discovered "inside" program details.

03

✅ Lived through financial struggles myself — I've filed for bankruptcy, managed student loans, and rebuilt my credit score after facing hardships.

These issues aren’t mere legal theory for me. I’ve walked the same road many of my clients’ face.

📚 Beyond the Law — A Bit About Me

At home, Dorothy lives with her partner, Joe, a former investment advisor, and her Papillons, Cody-Coyote and Butters, as well as her Burmese kitty, Coco.

Joe sustained a traumatic brain injury, which left him unable to find his way around. However, like a good Coyote, Cody knows his way home and assists Joe. Joe still possesses a remarkable understanding of financial systems and their impact on people’s lives.

As the new dog in the house, Butters is still shy about acting as a leader and worries about taking on the responsibility of caring for Joe. Butters is a sweet lapdog who loves being cuddled.

Coco came into our lives as a scaredy cat. During her first few months in our home, she would often hide in the closet. Getting her a kitty tower helped make her more confident, and she now bullies the dogs as she feels is necessary.
